We are excited to launch our second 21-day fast of 2024, building on the momentum of our January "Vision Renewed" fast and our QIII mandate. This time, we focus on "Making God Known" as we seek God for a Renewed Vision and align ourselves with Healthy Living and our Holy Calling.


Starting on August 19th, 2024, as we transition into the latter half of the year, we will embark on another transformative journey to deepen our understanding of God, reaffirm our true identity in Christ, and reflect His love to the world around us. This fast is not just about abstaining from certain foods or activities; it’s about inviting the Holy Spirit to refine our focus, renew our passion, and inspire us to live with greater purpose. Through scripture and prayer, we will align our hearts and minds with God’s truth, paving the way for healthier living and fulfilling our holy calling.

Fasting isn't about moving God...

It is about moving us

Fasting Guidelines

EVERY DAY:

  • Full fast until 3pm**
           - 12pm, if it's your first fast
           - 6pm if you are a veteran*
  • Stay hydrated with water. Slight modifications for health purposes are permissible.
  • Daily engage with the devotions and devotional
  • Break your fast sensibly each day, preferably with a small healthier meal choice.

*For those looking to further stretch and strengthen their faith aim to do a full 24 hour fast on each Monday

**Individuals who work nights should adjust their fasting time and fast from noon to 3am or later

DURING THE ENTIRE 21 DAYS

  • Reduce your “screen time”: time spent on social media, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, other television, phones, etc.
    Consider eliminating some activity that will be sacrificial and i
    nstead.... 
  • increase frequency of meaningful devotions, times of meditation, faith-filled podcasts, prayer, and Bible reading throughout each day. Aim for these devotional moments at least 3 times a day.
  • Stay hydrated; drinking water and/or unsweetened tea is encouraged.

FASTING FOR KIDS

  • For children, fasting for food may not always be practical or even advised.  Help your child choose something that they really love and that they typically use every day. In order for them to experience the feeling of “hunger” for the thing they sacrificed, it needs to be something they will really miss. It may be their favorite snack, favorite TV show, or favorite game or toy.
  • Once you have chosen an item for them to “fast” from, help them figure out how they will replace the item they sacrificed with time with God instead; during the time they would typically have their snack or watch their favorite show, you can read the Bible or pray together instead.
